Equipment for Monitoring Sound & Vibration
We provide a variety of Sound Level Meters and Tri-axial Vibration Monitors for a range of applications including short term and long term and for both internal and external use:
Please see below for further details of the equipment we provide.
Rion NA-28 Sound Level Meter
This unit can be used to take calibrated waveform recordings (audio) FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) narrow band frequency analysis and can also be used to measure airborne and impact sound insulation of a partition and the reverberation time in a room (building acoustics).
The data is automatically saved to a compact flash card in a format that can be imported to a spreadsheet.
This is a more specialised unit better suited for detailed testing and investigations.
Rion NL-52 Sound Level Meter
The NL-52 is our most user friendly unit and measures a range of metrics (Leq, LMax, LE, LPeak and LN(Percentile) across 1/1 and 1/3 octave bands. As a dual channel unit it can also simultaneously measure these using different 'time' and 'frequency' weightings. It can also be set to record calibrated waveform audio and to measure reverberation. This is our standard unit for most applications and can also be integrated for use as a manually activated noise nuisance recorder (NNR).
Rion NL-62 Sound Level Meter
The NL-62 is specifically intended for use with low frequency sound measurements and investigating complaints and infrasound (low frequency sound that is below the range of human hearing). The data is automatically saved to a compact flash card as a comma delimited text file that can be imported to a spreadsheet. Complex data analysis can be done using the manufacturer's custom Excel macro.
Rion NC-74 Reference Level Calibrator
Sound level meters should be calibrated to a reference level before use to ensure the measurements will be accurate.
The NC-74 is a single level unit and emits a reference tone of 1kHz at 94dB.
All our reference level calibrators are laboratory tested and calibrated on an annual basis.
Profound Vibra+ Vibration Monitor
This is a triaxial unit fitted with geophones and is primarily used to measure PPV on construction sites for long term measurements.
The Vibra+ vibration monitor can also be set to issue email alerts whenever a threshold level is exceeded as well as daily report of the previous 24 hours. Data can be downloaded over USB (even when the unit is measuring) or by using remote control software.
Rion VM-56 and XV-2P Triaxial Vibration Monitors These are used for most applications and measures acceleration, velocity, frequency and displacement.
The transducer for these units uses an accelerometer rather than geophones, because the VDV metric is based on weighted acceleration and is compliant with ISO 8041, BS 6472, BS 5228 and also BS 7385.
One of the key features of the VM56 unit is that it can also be set to measure across frequency groups which can be used to determine ground-borne noise.
We are also able to provide cloud based 'live' monitoring solutions for both vibration and sound giving you the choice between manually downloadable units and long term remote monitoring solutions and we only supply equipment that we already use ourselves, giving you the piece of mind we are confident in its ability to meet user requirements for what ever application might be needed.
